1 Professional skills and Research Interests

Research experiences on environmental impact assessment of renewable energy and development projects, waste management & sustainable development, and waste water management and treatment (monitoring pollution, waste/water treatment and conservation). Research interest on precipitation pattern in the Himalayas, cloud orography interaction, climate science, environmental psychology, education for sustainable development and aspects of didactics on climate science.

2 About the PhD Research Project

Title: “Pattern of Precipitation in the Himalayas and Didactic Philosophy of the Downstream Community.”

The pattern of precipitation in the Himalayas is spatiotemporal. The first objective of this research is to evaluate the rainfall intensity and duration along the strike of the Himalaya in India, Nepal and Bhutan. The second objective is to understand the environmental perception and attitude of the students about the river – livelihood relation in Eastern Nepal to improve their content of environmental education.

The research is under progress and for the first objective time-series analysis algorithms are under development using the software Matlab® and for the second objective 2-MEV (two dimensional model of ecological values) tool in context to the research site is being finalised.

4 Professional skills and work experiences

Consultant Environmental Engineer: Nepal Environmental and Scientific Services, Nepal to conduct Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Research on physical, biological, chemical, cultural and socio-economic environment of built infrastructure and development projects, 2013 – 2015.

Environmental Specialist: Department of Plant Resources, Natural Product Research Laboratory, Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation, Nepal. The theme of the project was preparing and approving Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of herbal oils produced by private companies of Nepal which are to be exported to foreign countries. 2013 – 2014.

Assistant Researcher: Leasehold forestry and livestock programme (LFLP), ECARDS - Nepal and Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation, Nepal. The title of the project was “Environmental assessment of LFLP for Environmental Protection and Awareness” in the Dhading and Kavrepalanchowk district of Nepal. 2011.
